I spent 4 years studying business and media (writing papers on everything from Barnes & Noble's business strategy to Tommy Hilfiger's use of Vampire Weekend in TV commercials to the homoerotic subtext in Gregg Araki's The Doom Generation) and now I have the crippling debt and a piece of paper to prove it. I know a lot of facts that will only be useful if VH1's World Series of Pop Culture makes a comeback. I've lived in NYC and London but currently live in the middle of nowhere New England.

your life is your life
don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
you are marvelous
the gods wait to delight
in you.

The Laughing Heart, Charles Bukowski

Look, let me put it this way: with me, you’re number one and there isn’t even a number two.

Nobody can save you but
Yourself
And you’re worth saving.
It’s a war not easily won
But if anything is worth winning then
This is it.

I’ve had so many knives stuck into me, when they hand me a flower I can’t quite make out what it is. It takes time.
